MY TEACHING VALUES

I teach people, not poses

I hold a space for self reflection as opposed to the constant seeking of perfection

I recognize your individuality and honor your unique expression of the practice

I believe that practice is about making permanent, not perfect

I believe that our bodies are our homes, our playgrounds and our classrooms and that learning must be fun!

I recognize that you are doing your best and I commit to doing and being my best

I commit to personal ongoing study and practice, so that I may be in service to you on the path to health, healing and happiness

I offer myself authentically in every way – what you see is what you get – on the mat and in the world

I encourage you to awaken to your own intuitive wisdom and to take ownership of your practice, your health and healing

I will not walk the path for you but will gladly accompany you along the way!

Real Yoga – a bit of everything - asana, pranayama, yogic philosophy, stories, poems, readings, and wherever possible the beautiful language of Sanskrit

You will receive classes that are carefully sequenced, mindful, and steady in their pacing

You will be encouraged and appropriately challenged

You will receive clear instruction on how to do the poses safely as well as personal feedback to assist you in deepening your practice

Gentle adjustments that help you find greater alignment and ease in the pose

You will learn how to use props, variations and progressions to tailor the practice to your needs on the day

You will learn interesting things about your body

You will leave feeling nourished, relaxed, confident and inspired

You will laugh! And you might even cry…..
